Admission Requirements For Unisa Courses In Teaching Foundation Phase Qualification
To be eligible for admission into UNISA’s teaching program for the foundation phase in 2024, prospective candidates need to meet specific criteria. Here are the general prerequisites you can expect:
You must fulfil the exact entrance requirements for the qualification you have chosen in order to be admitted to Unisa.
- a National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of instruction and learning and at least 40% in mathematics or at least 50% in mathematical literacy,
- a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and an F symbol on HG or an E symbol on SG in Mathematics,

Application Fee For The Teaching Of The Foundation Phase Program
After receiving your student number, submit the application fee:
- R125 for online applications
- Use the student number you receive from Unisa AND the application fee reference number (ie YOUR STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030)
- Send the proof of payment to susdepid@unisa.ac.za
- Visit www.unisa.ac.za/paymentinfo for banking details and payment information
Please note that this application fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available.
