University of South Africa (UNISA) Admission Requirements for 2025

All UNISA prospective applicants who desire to study in any of the UNISA faculties should review the course’s Minimum Entry Requirements for admission to the 2025 academic year

You need to check that you qualify for admission and that you have the necessary documents ready to upload during the application process.

• Applicants must meet the statutory and college admission requirements for qualification of choice
• Meet the minimum academic points score (APS) for qualification of choice – a higher certificate requires a minimum APS of 15, a diploma a minimum APS of 18, and a bachelor’s degree a minimum APS of 21 or more (some exceptions apply)
• Have a valid e-mail address and cellphone number
• You must have a copy of your school qualifications i.e Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate
• Provide a copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable)
• A copy of your ID document (RSA applicants) or ID/passport (international applicants)
• Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
• Copy of your marriage certificate or divorce decree if applicable

• Applying for Unisa online comes with an application fee. All applicants are to pay a non-refundable application fee of R135.

Documents Required To Complete The Unisa Application For Admission Form 2025/2026

You have to provide the following supporting documents:

• A Certified copy of your ID
• A copy of your Parent or guardian ID
• Your Examination results
• The evidence of your residence
• Your current payslip, you shouldn’t submit the original documents.
