The School of Applied Accountancy, which consists of two departments, offers the CTA Program.
Financial Intelligence Department
This department combines the disciplines of management accounting and taxation.
These disciplines are linked to the skills of Strategy, Risk Management, and Governance; Financial Management; Management Decision Making and Control; and Taxation.
Financial Governance Department
This department combines the disciplines of financial accounting and auditing.
Accounting and External Reporting, Auditing and Assurance, and Risk Management and Governance are the specialized competencies associated with these fields.
How to become UNISA Chartered Accountant
- To have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Honours Post Graduation qualification (CTA 1, CTA2)
- 3 years articles (this depends whether it is a part-time study or full time so it can vary from 3-5 years)
- Give two written board exams (ITC and APC)
How to become UNISA Chartered Accountant
(acting as the second year of the two-year CTA program, with direct entrance for students qualifying for the one-year CTA program [see to www.unisa.ac.za/cas/cta]).
To be identified as a Chartered Accountant, students must enlist as members of the ICAI after passing the CA Final examinations.
Another option is direct entrance, which is open to commerce graduates/post graduates with a minimum of 55 percent or other graduates/post graduates with a minimum of 60 percent.
