As 2024 unfolds, many wonder if an APS of 17 is sufficient to embark on a teaching journey. APS is a score that universities use to evaluate if a student qualifies for a specific course. This score is derived from a student’s National Senior Certificate (NSC) results, translating their grades into a point system.

Generally, an APS of 17, while decent, might be on the lower end for competitive courses, including some teaching programs. However, the required APS for a teaching course can vary significantly between institutions and even among different teaching specializations.
