if the UNISA Admission department rejects your application. make sure you re-apply within the dates mentioned below

  • 2025 Application Date For Undergraduate Qualifications (higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas & degrees): Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
  • 2025 Application Date For Honours Degrees & Postgraduate Diplomas: Applications for admission to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024.
  • 2025 Application Date For Master’s & Doctoral Qualifications: Applications for admission to master’s and doctoral degrees for the 2025 academic year are to be open from 2 September to 22 November 2024 (some exceptions apply).
  • 2025 Application Date For Short Learning Programmes: The semester 2 applications and registrations for the 2024 academic year are open for limited qualifications from the 14th of May to the 19th of July.

Can you reapply to Unisa if your first application is denied

  • After being dismissed from Unisa due to subpar performance in qualification, a student who wishes to be readmitted may only do so after demonstrating successful completion of a one-year certificate programme at NQF level 4, 5, or above (with 48 credits) at another authorised university.

Will Unisa Accept All Applicants In 2025

  • Please take note that even if you meet the prerequisites for your desired qualification(s), you will not necessarily be accepted to study through Unisa. According to the number of spots available for each qualification, students will be admitted.15

  • If you were previously registered with Unisa, Unisa will send the outcome of your application to your myLife e-mail account. Please check this e-mail account regularly for information. If you have forgotten your myUnisa/myLife password, please go to myUnisa (https://my.unisa.ac.za) to update your password. If you are a first-time Unisa applicant and do not have a myLife e-mail address, Unisa will communicate with you via the e-mail address and cellphone number provided during the application period.

  • Visit the official website of UNISA.
  • Click on “Apply.”
  • Once the page opens, enter the year you are looking to enrol and whether you are a new student or a returning student.
  • Move to step number 4 on the menu section, which reads “Apply for admission.”
  • Click “Apply Now.”
  • Select the qualification you are looking to appeal, upload the required documents, and choose the status Appeal.”
  • Enter your student’s number in the box.
  • Click Continue to proceed.
  • Fill in your details, which include your name and date of birth, and click continue.
  • Provide reasons for your motivation for this appeal and provide information about the relevant spaces.
  • Click next to accept the terms and agreement.
  • Finally, click submit to submit your appeal.
  • You will receive a confirmation on the submission of the appeal.
