Nsfas online application for the 2024-2025  academic year will be open from the 28th of September 2023 and the applications will be closing on the 31st of January 2024. If you are currently enrolled in any of the public Colleges and Universities and you have already paid for your registration, it will be refunded to you as soon as your Nsfas appeal process is successfully processed.

Who Is Eligible To Appeal For Nsfas Registration Refund For 2024-2025

A student whose application for financial aid is rejected, or the financial aid for a continuing student is withdrawn, may lodge an appeal with the NSFAS:

  • The appeal decisions are subject to budget availability.
  • Appeals will only be considered for students who have applied to NSFAS for Financial Aid.

Who Cannot Appeal For Nsfas Refund

Students are not permitted to appeal if they:

  • Are registered for a qualification that NSFAS does not fund;
  • They have reached N+2 (or N+3 in the case of students with disabilities).
  • The student is a gap year student whom NSFAS previously denied financial aid to because s/he did not meet the academic eligibility criteria.
  • If the institution has not submitted its registration record to NSFAS or has submitted an incorrect registration record such enquiries should be directed to the institution.

Does NSFAS Refund Registration Fees

  • Yes, NSFAS does provide refunds for registration fees under specific conditions. If you are an NSFAS-funded student, you may be eligible for a refund of your registration fee. However, it’s essential to understand the process and meet the necessary requirements to qualify for a refund.
  • All students must submit their appeals to NSFAS directly through the myNSFAS platform. All NSFAS-funded students who pay the required minimum registration fee will receive a refund. Refunds won’t be issued until NSFAS notifies Unisa that registration data processing was successful.

I’m an NSFAS student, and I still owe money. Will you let me register

When will my initial NSFAS allowances arrive
